Hellesdon High school
We supplied and erected a steel frame sports hall building, single ply roof and aluminium flashing for Mansell in 2006 (NPS Architects). After a reported leak in early August 2008 we visited site to investigate. The photo on the right indicates the problem, more than one football had blocked the rainwater outlets.
Our cladding contracts manager Sean Davies removed more than 30 balls from the roof not only alleviating the leak problem (the water had risen over and under the parapet flashing / stones (something it was not designed for) also saving the school on further football purchases!
We concluded the roof had experienced standing water of over 50mm for quite some time and it was only recently in a very heavy downpour that the wier outlets (the only way water was getting off the roof) couldn’t cope. We were happy to provide this service free of charge.
